Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
