Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
