The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
