A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 so that they may eat of the fruit thereof, though it was not their hands that made it. Will they not, then, be grateful? 35 Limitless in His glory is He who has created opposites in whatever the earth produces, and in men's own selves, and in that of which [as yet] they have no knowledge. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth to its appointed term: that is the disposition of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 how the sun is not supposed to catch-up with the moon, nor is the night to precede the day. All of them are to float in a certain orbit; 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 And not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their Lord, but they are ever backsliders therefrom. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 They also say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?' 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families. 50

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
