The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou enveloped in thy cloak, 1 Arise and warn 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 stay away from sins 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 and for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 And give him vast riches, 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 and who still desires more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he beheld, 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
