Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
