Say: 'Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised, 93 do not, O my Sustainer, let me be one of those evildoing folk!" 94 Assuredly, We are able to show thee that We promise them. 95 Respond to the injustice (done to you) with the better deed. We know best what they attribute to God. 96 And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, 97 "And I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! lest they should come near me." 98 [AS FOR THOSE who will not believe in the life to come, they go on lying to themselves] until, when death approaches any of them, he prays: "O my Sustainer! Let me return, let me return [to life,] 99 so that I might act righteously in whatever I have failed [aforetime]!" Nay, it is indeed but a [meaningless] word that he utters: for behind those [who leave the world] there is a barrier [of death] until the Day when all will be raised from the dead! 100 Then, when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask of one another. 101 It will be an Hour when those whose scales are heavy, they alone will attain success; 102 And he whose balances shall be light - these are they who have lost themselves; in Hell they are abiders. 103 The fire will scorch their faces and they will be groaning therein in pain. 104 Have not My revelations been rehearsed unto you, and them ye have been belying? 105 They will say: our Lord! our wretchedness overcame us, and we have been a people erring. 106 "Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil), then shall we be wrong-doers indeed!" 107 He saith: Begone therein, and speak not unto Me. 108 "Behold, there were among My servants such as would pray, 'O our Sustainer! We have come to believe [in Thee]; forgive, then, our sins and bestow Thy mercy on us: for Thou art the truest bestower of mercy!' 109 "But ye treated them with ridicule, so much so that (ridicule of) them made you forget My Message while ye were laughing at them! 110 Today I shall recompense them for their patience, for it is they that have won. 111 He will say: "What number of years did ye stay on earth?" 112 They will reply: 'A day, or part of a day; ask those who have kept count' 113 He will say: 'You have tarried a little, did you know? 114 "Did ye then think that We had created you in jest, and that ye would not be brought back to Us (for account)?" 115 Therefore exalted be Allah, the King, the Reality: there is no god but He, the Lord of the Throne of Honour! 116 He who invokes any other god along with Allah " one for whom he has no evidence" his reckoning is with his Lord alone. Indeed, these unbelievers shall not prosper. 117 Say, "Lord, forgive us and have mercy. You are the best of those who show mercy." 118
