Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
