So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
