The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 to their promise, 9 these are the heirs 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
