Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
