And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
