The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
