Nay, by the Moon 32 By the receding night 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until death approached us". 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
