The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
