The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is no joke. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
