The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
