Aaron had already, before this said to them: "O my people! ye are being tested in this: for verily your Lord is (Allah) Most Gracious; so follow me and obey my command." 90 'We will not cease,' they said, 'to cleave to it, until Moses returns to us.') 91 (After rebuking his people) Moses turned to Aaron and said: "Aaron! What prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 from following after me, did you disobey my order' 93 Aaron said, "Son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard nor by my head. I was afraid that you would say, 'You have caused dissension among the Children of Israel and did not pay heed to my words.'" 94 (Moses) said: And what hast thou to say, O Samiri? 95 He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me." 96 Musa (Moses) said: "Then go away! And verily, your (punishment) in this life will be that you will say: "Touch me not (i.e. you will live alone exiled away from mankind); and verily (for a future torment), you have a promise that will not fail. And look at your ilah (god), to which you have been devoted. We will certainly burn it, and scatter its particles in the sea." 97 “Your God is only Allah – other than for Whom there is no worship; His knowledge encompasses all things.” 98 And so We narrate to you the stories of the past, and We have given you a remembrance from Us. 99 Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden, 100 which they shall bear forever. It will be a grievous burden for them on the Day of Judgement, 101 the Day when the Trumpet shall be sounded and We shall muster the sinners, their eyes turned blue with terror. 102 They will slowly talk to each other and say, "Our life on earth was as short as ten days". 103 We know best what they say. The moderate ones among them will say, "You did not live on earth for more than a day." 104
