[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to all [Our] warnings; 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 [We said to him] "Tomorrow they shall know who is the boastful liar, 26 Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience; 27 Tell them that the water is to be apportioned between them (and her); and every turn of drinking will be fixed (for each)." 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 30 Behold, We let loose upon them one single blast [of Our punishment,] and they became like the dried-up, crumbling twigs of a sheepfold. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warnings. 33 We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning 34 as a blessing from Us: this is how We reward the thankful. 35 And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! 36 They even solicited of him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes: 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 40
