Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And We helped them, so they were the vanquishers. 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 and We left them thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 119 Peace be on Moses and Aaron. 120 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 121 Verily! They were two of Our believing slaves. 122 And indeed Ilyas is one of the Noble Messengers. 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 Do you call upon Baal and forsake the Best of the Creators? 125 "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?" 126 They called him a liar. Thus, all of them will suffer torment 127 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 128 And We left his (memory) for posterity. 129 Peace be with the followers of Elias. 130 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 And Lut was most surely of the apostles. 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 135 Then We utterly destroyed the rest of them. 136 Verily, you pass by them in the morning. 137 And by night: will ye not understand? 138
