Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
