He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him you give attention. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
