Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
