The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky with its constellations, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 by a burning fire 5 They sat by it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
