Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ HALLOWED be He in whose hand all dominion rests, since He has the power to will anything: 1 Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 [Hallowed be] He who has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another: no fault will thou see in the creation of the Most Gracious. And turn thy vision [upon it] once more: canst thou see any flaw? 3 Then return your gaze once more and yet again, your gaze comes back to you dazzled, and tired. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 It almost explodes in rage. Whenever a group is thrown into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no one come to warn you?" 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they will then say: 'If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze' 10 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames. 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 And whather ye keep your discourse secret or publish it, verily He is the Knower of that which is in the breasts. 13 Shall He who has created (all things) not know? He is the Subtle, the Aware. 14
