The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 The rising dawn, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
