Noah (Nooh)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 (Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me, 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 He will send you abundant 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, 17 and He will later cause you to return to it and will then again bring you out of it. 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
