T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 A down-sent from Him who Created the earth and the heavens high. 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed to you. 13 Verily I am Allah. There is no god beside Me. So serve Me and establish Prayers to remember Me. 14 “The Last Day will surely come – it was close that I hide it from all – in order that every soul may get the reward of its effort.” (He revealed it to His Prophets, so that people may fear and get ready. The exact time is not revealed to the people.) 15 “Therefore never let one, who does not accept faith in it and follows his own desires, prevent you from accepting this, so then you become ruined.” 16 "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 He said: "Moses, throw it down." 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24
