Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
