The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
