The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 save boiling water and pus 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
