Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. "Now do pay heed unto me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 'My Lord' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation, 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 and, behold I preached to them in public; and I spoke to them secretly, in private; 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 And Allah hath made the earth unto you an expanse. 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
