Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
