The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and clustered bananas, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
