The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will be opened it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
