The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
