We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 And death's agony comes in truth; that is what thou wast shunning! 19 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. 20 And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, 25 and an idol worshipper. Throw him into severe torment". 26 ۞ His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error." 27 The Lord will say, "Do not argue in My presence; I had certainly sent you a warning. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
