The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
