The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and brightening morning, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
