Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A large group from the earlier generations. 39 and a good many of later times. 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 and the shadows of black smoke 43 neither cool nor good. 44 Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury, 45 And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.) 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 you shall eat of a tree called Zakkoum, 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Behold! that which ye emit. 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 It is We Who ordained death upon you and We are not to be frustrated. 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? 62 Ponder upon the soil you till, 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 "Nay, but we are deprived!" 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 [It comes down sweet - but] were it Our will, We could make it burningly salty and bitter: why, then, do you not give thanks [unto Us]? 70 Have you seen the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who grew its tree, or is it We Who create? 72 It is We who have made it as a reminder and a means of comfort for the people. 73 (Muhammad), glorify your Lord, the Great One. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
