The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
