The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
