The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
