Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They used to say before: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
