The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 127 "Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them? 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 and when you strike you strike like tyrants? 130 "Now fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 He has bestowed on you cattle, and sons, 133 And orchards and springs. 134 "Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day." 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
