The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 A book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
