Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
