Forgiver (Ghaafer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ha. Mim. 1 The sending down of the Book is from God the All-mighty, the All-knowing, 2 The Forgiver of sin, the Accepter of repentance, the Stern in punishment, the Bountiful. There is no Allah save Him. Unto Him is the journeying. 3 None but the unbelievers dispute regarding the Signs of Allah. So let not their strutting about in the land delude you. 4 The people of Noah and later factions also rejected the truth and every community plotted against the messenger sent to them, aiming to lay hands on him, and they contended [against his message] with fallacious arguments, so that they might defeat the truth, therefore I seized them. How terrible was My punishment. 5 And thus has the word of your Lord come into effect upon those who disbelieved that they are companions of the Fire. 6 The angels that bear the Throne and those that are around to extol your Lord's glory with His praise, they believe in Him, and ask forgiveness for the believers, saying: “Our Lord! You encompass everything with Your Mercy and Knowledge. So forgive those that repent and follow Your Path, and guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 7 "And O our Sustainer, bring them into the gardens of perpetual bliss which Thou hast promised them, together with the righteous from among their forebears, and their spouses, and their offspring - for, verily, Thou alone art almighty, truly wise 8 "And save them from (the punishment, because of what they did of) the sins, and whomsoever You save from (the punishment, because of what they did of) the sins (i.e. excuse them) that Day, him verily, You have taken into mercy." And that is the supreme success. 9
