The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
