Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 in outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
